Centurions secure semi-final berth
Leigh overcame Whitehaven 34-18 to book their place in the semi-finals of the Northern Rail Cup.
Jonathan Pownall and Sean Penkywicz went over in the first half for the Centurions with Gregg McNally adding the extras but tries from Dave Houghton and Jessie Joe Parker coupled with four points from Cain Southernwood had the sides level at the break.
Haven ran out of steam in the second half though with Pownall bringing up his hat-trick and Simon Finnigan and Sam Hopkins also crossing while McNally added another six points.
Scott McAvoy scored a last-minute consolation for the visitors which Southernwood converted.
Leigh will host Batley in the semis after the Bulldogs beat Workington 30-4 in their quarter-final.
