Workington Town 26-22 Leigh Centurions
Briscoe stars in Workington win
Workington produced a surprise result as former Great Britain full-back Shaun Briscoe was a tryscorer in the Cumbrians' 26-22 win over Leigh Centurions.
Briscoe, playing on a dual-registration for Workington after being unable to force his way back into the Widnes team, scored their first try after winger Steve Maden had give the Centurions an early lead.
Brett Phillips, Brett Carter and Paddy Flynn, the Widnes winger also making his Workington debut, scored the home side's other tries and Kayle Connor kicked five goals.
Second rower Simon Finnigan scored a second-half hat-trick of tries to help Leigh to a losing bonus point.
