Crusaders fight back to edge Roughyeds
Gary Middlehurst scored a brace of tries as North Wales Crusaders claimed a 22-20 Kingstone Press Championship 1 comeback victory over Oldham Roughyeds.
Middlehurst crossed over for the home side in the opening 15 minutes, which Tommy Johnson converted, before Oldham hit back with tries from Richard Lepori and Mo Agoro ahead of half-time to claim a 10-6 lead.
But three tries in seven second-half minutes - from Dan Birkett, Middlehurst with his second and Johnson - swung the game back in the Crusaders' favour. Johnson added the extras.
The Roughyeds responded with a score from Adam Files and then John Ford, but Lewis Palfrey crucially failed to make it three goals for the visitors at the death.
