Randall blow for Broncos

London Broncos hooker Chad Randall has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

London Broncos hooker Chad Randall has been ruled out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

The 32-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of the year, has not played since being hurt against Leeds Rhinos in April.

Randall is the Broncos' longest-serving player, having joined them in in 2005, and has made 197 appearances for the club - five short of the all-time record held by fellow Australian Steele Retchless.

"I know I'm just short of Steele's record but I've had a good run in my career so far," he told BBC London.

"I played over 100 consecutive games in my time here and this is the first really bad injury I've had so I can't really complain about this injury now."

The Broncos have announced that outside back Will Lovell will also miss the rest of the campaign and that forwards Matt Cook and Shane Rodney will sit out Saturday's game against Warrington Wolves at Gillingham's Priestfield Stadium after picking up injuries in the draw against Castleford Tigers.

Cook could be out for up to six weeks with an ankle problem while Rodney will see a specialist on Monday about his neck injury.

The Londoners expect to have leading scorer Kieran Dixon back after missing the Castleford Tigers game with a hand injury while Mike Bishay will get the chance to fill the boots of veteran scrum-half Craig Gower, who left the club this week to return to Australia.
