Rochdale Hornets 40-22 Hemel Stags
Hornets brush aside Stags
Daniel Davies and Warren Thompson picked up a pair of tries each as Rochdale Hornets eased to a 40-22 Kingstone Press Championship 1 win over Hemel Stags.
The Hornets made a bright start as Davies, Wayne English and Adam Swift ran in tries - two converted by Gareth Langley and one by Dave Hull - to give them a 18-0 lead after 15 minutes.
But Hemel rallied and Barry Swindells ran in for a try double, with Jermaine Coleman also going over and Swindells adding the extras on two of them to get the Stags back into the game at 18-16.
But the Hornets regained control of the game after the break with further four-pointers from Davies, Thompson (2) and Martin Waring, three of which were bettered by Langley.
Chad Sharp ran in a last-minute consolation score, which was converted by Swindells, for the Stags but by then the game had been decided.
