Masters RLWC2013 match day festivals announced
A series of Masters Rugby League games and festivals will be held to coincide with RLWC2013 fixtures. Cardiff stages the first festival on 26th October with games held each week culminating in the Eccles, (Salford) festival on World Cup final day 30th November.
Halifax, St Helens, Huddersfield, Warrington, Cumbria and Leeds will all host Masters games allowing Masters Rugby League players to play their part in the RLWC2013.
John Wroe, Chair of the Masters Steering Group said “This is an ideal opportunity to showcase Masters and to attract new players whether they have played Rugby League or not. Masters players will be able to go on together from their game to the RLWC2013 fixture”
“Those who have not yet tried Masters are encouraged to come along! It is a super way to keep fit and continue to show your Rugby League skills in a safe environment” he enthused.
Masters Rugby League is for players over 35 years and who want to play Rugby League for fun. Currently over 1000 players between 35 and 77 years are registered. The rules are modified to accommodate the “older gentleman” and coloured shorts denote age groups. Every game finishes 0-0 and everyone has a host of new friends!
Clubs wishing to take part are encouraged to register as soon as possible as places are limited. Further information is available via Master Rugby League Facebook page and via twitter @Paul_Mastersrl. Contact via firstname.lastname@example.org
