Women ready for kick-off

Fixtures announced on International Women's Day.

The Women’s Rugby League season kicks offs on Sunday March 17 with Division One taking the limelight.

The opening round sees two West Yorkshire derbies as Oulton Raidettes take on Whinmoor and Castleford Panthers have home advantage against Hunslet Hawks.

Chorley Panthers make the trip over the Pennines to face Brighouse Ladies, whilst West Craven Warriors and Leigh Miners Rangers meet in an all North West affair.

The Premier Division – which will feature seven sides – is due to start on Sunday April 7 with Normanton Knights and North East Angels amongst the contenders looking to take Featherstone Rovers crown.

As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations on Friday March 8, the draw for Round 1 and Round 2 of the RFL Women’s Challenge Cup were made as follows:

The 2013 season will again feature a cup competition, whilst after a short break for the Women’s Rugby League World Cup; will conclude with a Finals Day on Sunday October 13.
