Salford City Reds have signed back-row forward Jon Molloy on a three-year deal.

The 21-year-old has spent the last three seasons at Huddersfield Giants after joining them from Wigan Warriors’ academy but has spent the close season recovering from injury.

Molloy, who has secured a release by the Giants, met his new team-mates at yesterday’s training session at the National Cycling Centre at the Manchester Velodrome, where they were put through their paces by Team GB cycling coaches.

Molloy told www.reds.co.uk: “I’m about three weeks away from fitness and raring to go. This is an exciting club going places and I am happy to be a part of the future here.”
