Four Super League players charged
Four Super League players have been charged with committing offences during Round Three of the competition.
Warrington Wolves forward Ben Westwood and Brent Webb of Catalan Dragons will both appear before the RFL Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday (February 19) after they were charged with committing offences during their game on Friday February 15.
Both players have been charged with Grade B, one on one fighting offences following an incident occurring in the 72nd minute of the game at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Catalan half-back Leon Pryce has been charged with a Grade A, striking with the leg offence from the 19th minute of the same game.
Pryce has until 11.00am on Tuesday (February 19) to submit and Early Guilty Plea in relation to the offence.
Bradford Bulls prop Nick Scruton has been charged with committing a Grade B, striking with the shoulder offence on Castleford Tigers half-back Gareth O’Brien during the 4th minute of Saturday’s game at the Provident Stadium
Scruton is charged with a reckless challenge and has until 11.00am on Tuesday to submit an Early Guilty Plea in relation to the offence.
All players were charged after the incidents were viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel, which issued formal cautions to the following players:
· Gil Dudson (Wigan) - kicking-out against Huddersfield’s Scott Grix in the 54th minute.
· Scott Grix (Huddersfield) – kicking-out against Wigan’s Gil Dudson in the 54th minute.
The RFL Match Review Panel also deemed that sin-binning was sufficient punishment for Michael Witt of London Broncos following a dissent offence in the 59th minute of their game against Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
