Fax maintain strong start

Halifax kept pace with Kingstone Press Championship leaders Featherstone as they maintained their 100% record in easing past Keighley Cougars 30-20.

Ross Divorty, Ben Heaton and Ryan Fieldhouse crossed in the first half for the hosts as they took a 14-12 lead into the interval with Sean Hesketh and Paul White going over for the Cougars.

Halifax put the game to bed early in the second half as four-pointers from Dane Manning, Anthony Thackeray and Craig Ashall gave them some breathing space.

White crossed for second of the afternoon for the Cougars five minutes from time but by then it was mere consolation.
