Lee: We'll work hard to improve

Broncos to look for improvement in next game...

Tommy Lee, one of three new signings for the Broncos in 2013, says the team will work hard to improve ahead of the trip to one of his former clubs, Huddersfield Giants.

The Broncos travel to Huddersfield on Sunday February 10 for a 3:00pm kick-off and Lee knows there’s a tough week of training ahead.

“We’re obviously disappointed with the overall performance but based on the build-up and the way we’ve prepared and trained, I thought we could have done things a lot better. Obviously it’s a long season so we’re not going to be too disheartened.

“We know we’ve got a lot of things to improve on next week against a tough Huddersfield team. It’ll be a tough week training and we’re back into it. We know we’ve got a lot of improvement and we’re a better team than that.”

Lee played a part in all three pre-season friendly games and scored a try against London Skolars and says he was pleased to make his Super League debut for the club saying: “It’s a new start and a new team so it was good to play alongside some of the blokes. It’s been a long three months pre-season and it was good to get out there.”

On playing at The Stoop he said: “I really enjoyed it, I like the stadium and I thought the fans were good. I knew I’d start off the bench and come on for Chad [Randall], I was patient but I was also anxious to get on. It’s not the best being on the bench but once I got on I enjoyed it. It was just a disappointing result.

“Looking at the results already this season St Helens have had a poor start, we’ve had a poor start but there’s a long way to go, we’ll knuckle down at training and work hard to improve.”

The Broncos face Huddersfield Giants on Sunday (kick-off 3:00pm) before returning to The Twickenham Stoop on Sunday February 17 to play Wakefield Trinity Wildcats (kick-off 3:00pm).
