Bradford Bulls support Wheelchair Rugby League in Scotland

The Bulls and Scotland RL team up to launch new Wheelchair Rugby League club in Dundee...

Bradford Bulls in partnership with Scotland Rugby League will be supporting the development of a new Wheelchair Rugby League Club in Dundee.


The Bulls are the first Super League Club to have an affiliated Wheelchair Rugby League team and the 2011 First Division Wheelchair League Champions will send up a squad of players and coaches to launch the new Dundee club on January 19 with the support of the Bradford Bulls Foundation.


Gordon Quinton, Disability Sports Officer for Leisure & Culture Dundee said: "Dundee City Disability Sport in partnership with Leisure and Culture Dundee are delighted to host the Wheelchair Rugby League open day. We welcome the Bradford Bulls and the Glasgow Eagles wheelchair Rugby League club and thank them for their support.  We wish to thank Scotland Rugby League for all the assistance and support enabling this open day to happen.


“We are excited that there will be a wheelchair rugby league team in Dundee, and we will support the future development of the sport"


Mark Senter Scotland Rugby League Development Manager said: “This is tremendous for the sport of Rugby League in Scotland. Gordon Quinton has shown great enthusiasm to establish the wheelchair version in Dundee along with Elizabeth Ferri and Sarah Bell two very proactive and eager volunteers.


“With Bradford Bulls and Glasgow Eagles supporting this new initiative I am sure we will see a very successful launch and a growing vibrant club”.


Dundee Wheelchair Rugby League club launch will take place on Saturday January 19 2013 at Fintry Primary School, 10 Findcastle Terrace, Dundee, DD4 9EL from 10am – 12pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and try for free this fast and exciting sport.
