Hemel Stags sign two more

Hemel Stags have signed two more players ahead of the festive period. Eddie Mbaraga and Jake Hobbs have joined the raft of signings that Head Coach, Troy Perkins, has been making.
Eddie Mbaraga has been with the Stags for 5 years and Perkins commented, 'Eddie has been with the club five seasons and been one of our most consistent performer over that time. He came through a good system at the Broncos and he is a very talented player. He can play backrow or prop, he has got good footwork for a big man, is a damaging fringe runner and can find the try line. He was our second best try scorer last season.'
Jake Hobbs has come from a Rugby Union background but he is working hard on making the change to Rugby League. Perkins commented, 'Jake has had a real good preseason and has earned a contract. He has been playing at professional club Ealing RFC but he wanted a new challenge and wanted to come and have a trial. He has impressed me with his attitude and he has good skills and will be a good addition in the centres or second row. He is still new to rugby league but he is improving all the time and I think he will develop into a decent player at this level.'
With the season only a few months away the Stags have also confirmed two pre-season fixtures against London Broncos and Gateshead Thunder on the 27th January and the 16th February respectively. Perkins commented, 'Pre-season fixtures give all our players a chance to push for selection in the starting team in our fixture Northern Rail Cup fixture on the 3rd March. These games will be an excellent test and I am looking forward to getting started with our first season in Championship 1.'
