England head coach Steve McNamara was amongst the guests at this year’s Yorkshire Junior League annual awards.

Held on Sunday at the Cedar Court Hotel, Wakefield, the event was an outstanding success yet again and also saw other guests in attendance including the RFL’s Nigel Wood, David Gent and David Raybould.

Following a meal Rugby League World Cup 2013 Marketing Manager Mark Foster gave a presentation about next year’s event, whilst highlights from the War of the Roses games and Continuation Cup and Challenge Cup Finals days were shown.

All cup winners from the season were re-presented with their trophies, before the individual league winners stepped forward to receive their prizes.

A host of individual prizes were also announced with Mark Farrell (Newsome Panthers) being named Bronze Boot winner and two special awards going to Elizabeth Whittaker on her retirement from league management duties and Colin Handforth who received a standing ovation for being awarded the BEM.
