Hemel Stags announce coaching staff
Hemel Stags have announced their full coaching team for their first season in Championship 1 in 2013. Troy Perkins, Head Coach at the Stags, has brought in three extra staff to take the next step into the semi-professional ranks. Dan Stocks, Jermaine Coleman and Matt Lambert all join the coaching team with different backgrounds and experience.
Perkins, himself an ex NRL player at St George and Penrith, is pleased to be able to bring in these other faces. He said, 'It is refreshing for the players and for myself to have more people in and around the playing set up at the Stags. Dan Stocks has been at the club since he was a kid and has been coaching at the club for many years, he has coached South of England Students and will bring great local knowledge to the table.'
Jermaine Coleman, coming in as a player/coach, has vast amounts of experience in the semi-professional ranks having spent a long time at London Skolars. Perkins commented on Jermaine, 'He has played over 150 times for Skolars 1st team and he is a brilliant addition to the coaching staff. I can already see, in the sessions he has taken, how well the lads respond to him and how much knowledge he has.'
Matt Lambert, also Community Coach at the club, is taking on the role of Strength and Conditioning coach at the club. Perkins said, 'Matt is a Sports Science graduate from Leeds Met and has a few years experience of working with the Castleford Tigers Scholarship programme on Strength and Conditioning. He knows his stuff and in dedicated to what we want to achieve here.'
