AIS secure big win

England Students next up for tourists.

The Australian Institute of Sport started the UK-leg of their 2012 tour with a comprehensive 52-12 win over Wales U18s in Neath last night.

The tourists – who’s next game sees them face the England Students at Stanningley, Leeds, on Sunday – had too much power for a brave Welsh side as they crossed for ten tries in a commanding performance.

Wales head coach Barry Eaton admitted the AIS were too good for his side.

“You have to take your hat off to them, they were very ruthless and they punished us when we let them off the hook.

“The fact that they were trying at the death to nullify our second try just shows you what they are like.

“Our boys can be proud of their efforts but maybe they can channel those efforts a little bit better and deal with the situations a little better so you give yourself more of a chance. But in terms of Australia, they were very impressive.”

After facing the students on Sunday the tourist will complete their five-game trip to France and England with a game against the English Lions U18s at Heworth, York, on Wednesday December 5.
