Underbank receive funding boost
Underbank Rangers are celebrating after being awarded almost £50,000.
The Huddersfield-based club will receive the money from the Sport England Inspired Facilities Fund and it will go towards improvements at their Holmfirth home ground.
“It’s superb news for the club,” said David Berry, club chairman.
“The money will go towards new toilets, changing rooms, kitchen facilities as well as other improvements to our clubhouse.
“Making these vital changes will help us increase the number of female participants and also upgrade the clubhouse so it can be hired out more.
“It really has been a team effort from everyone involved.”
RFL Yorkshire Regional Manager David Raybould was also quick to praise the clubs efforts.
“It’s fantastic that Underbank’s bid has been successful.
“The Inspired Facilities Fund is a great Sport England initiative and I’m really pleased that the club are been proactive in developing their facilities ahead of their debut in the National Conference League next year.”
