Hunslet Hawks head coach Barry Eaton has agreed a 12 month contract extension keeping him at South Leeds until November 2014. Eaton signed his extension at last night’s season launch in front of a packed house that included several teachers and school children from South Leeds Academy.

Director of Rugby Darren Williams said “ Were thrilled to be-able to agree this re-negotiation with Barry at this early stage, this will enable him to continue the excellent community work he has embarked on for a further 2 years along with giving the club some continuity as we look to establish ourselves as a real force in the Championship.”

Williams added “Myself and the board have full confidence in Barry’s ability to improve the players currently at the club and his community work is second to none,  I can reveal he was approached recently by 2 Super League clubs offering him roles in their coaching structure which just re-affirmed to us how highly Barry is regarded in the game.”
