Locket names side for Wales clash

Dixon named captain ahead of game at Leigh.

English Lions U18s head coach Kelvin Lockett has named his 18-man squad for this Saturday’s game with Wales U18s at Leigh Miners Rangers, kick off 2.30pm.

The full 26-man squad were put through their paces in a final training session last weekend after which Lockett announced his reduced group.

“We’ve had some good games against Wales in the past and I’m sure this one will be no different,” said Lockett.

“I’m expecting them to be a very competitive side and they had a good hit-out against Scotland last week so will be well prepared.

“Our own preparations have gone well and I’m very happy with the way our training sessions have gone. Saturday’s game will be a big test for us but we’re all really looking forward to it.”

Wath Brow Hornets Karl Dixon (pictured) has been named as captain and he is joined by fellow Hornets Ian Curnow and Charlie Tomlinson in the side.

The 26-man squad will then convene later this month to prepare for their game against the touring Australian Institute of Sport on Wednesday December 5.
