The Wildcats have today beaten the clubs 4,000 Gold Member target on the eve of the first team squad returning for pre-season training.

The 27 members needed at the start of the day to hit the 4,000 target was achieved this morning meaning Richard Agar and his squad will go into 2013 backed by a record number of Members.

Following a club record Super League run of wins and only a third play-off appearance in the summer era during 2012, the Wakefield public have been quick to take advantage of the early bird prices for entry to all thirteen home Super League games in 2013 for just £125 adults, £25 juniors, £85 concessions and, for the first time, a young adult membership for those aged 16-21 priced at only £50.

The Wildcats campaign to hit 4,000 members included first team players taking training sessions at local amateur clubs with all junior players buying a Gold Membership earning £5 for their amateur club.

As well as the progress on the field in 2012, attendances were up by 25% with the development of the Fleetmaster North Stand making a noticeable difference to the atmosphere inside the Rapid Solicitors Stadium that added to the matchday experience with the Wildcats.

With a whole host of local restaurants and businesses offering discounts and benefits to Members, it’s the best value membership the Wildcats have ever offered and Chief Executive James Elston is thrilled with the response of the Wakefield fans.

“It’s fantastic that we’ve hit the member target and I’d like to thank the fans who have shown their faith in what we’re looking to build here at the club by buying their Gold Membership,” said Elston.

“It’s an increase of around 15% on our member numbers from last season which is excellent and with over three months to go until the start of the season we’re sure there will still be more to add to the number.

“We’ve worked hard to make it a great value for money membership that is much more than just a season ticket and people have bought into that and encouraged friends and family to take it up.

“The players are back for pre-season on Thursday and it’s a great boost for them to begin their preparations for the new season knowing that the fans are right behind them once again.”

Supporters still have until the end of today (Wednesday) to take advantage of the early bird offer before prices increase from 1st November.

Memberships are available in the Ridings Centre Store, the Rapid Solicitors Stadium Box Office, online or by calling 01924 201548/211611.
