Wath Brow Hornets picked up the Hatton's Solictors National Conference League Leaders Trophy on a remarkable day of results which had four teams battling for top spot on the final day of the regular season.

The day started with any one of the four teams capable of finishing top of the table and in pole position for the plays offs as the Miners needed a win at home to Wath Brow and Siddal to get beat at fourth placed West Hull as well as Myton to go down at Thatto Heath.

Siddal needed a win and similar sequence or results that included a Miners win, and Wath Brow needed victory and Myton to lose. Myton need only to win and top spot was theirs.

But it all transpired to see Wath Brow finish top for the first time ever, Siddal to finish second, Myton third, Thatto fourth, the miners fifth and West Hull sixth and four points separated the sides with Wath Brow edging out Siddal on points difference.

Even at the other end of the table there was high drama as Leigh East were pitched at Skirlaugh with the losing side being relegated.
