The Eagles touchdown at the Lane

Sheffield Eagles were given an excellent and rapturous reception on Saturday (13th October) as they paraded the Championship Trophy round Bramall Lane at half-time in the game between Sheffield United and Oldham Athletic
First team players Misi Taulapapa, Pat Smith, Quentin Laulu-Togagae and Menzie Yere were welcomed to the middle of the pitch with the trophy before parading the trophy around the Lane to the 18,188 in attendance on Saturday afternoon.
The players were given a great applause from all at the game on Saturday, stopping to pose for photographs with a number of fans and also met with Sheffield boxer Kell Brook.
The players and staff also took in the match which was Laulu-Togagae’s first ever time at a football match in the UK!
Our friends at United took the lead on 52 minutes with a Nick Blackman’s penalty but couldn’t seal the win with Oldham equalising with a goal in the dying seconds from Matt Smith to bring the final score to 1-1.
Everyone at Sheffield Eagles would like to Sheffield United and everyone in attendance at Bramall Lane on Saturday for the warm and excellent reception the club received.
