All Golds players gain professional experience

Ten University of Gloucestershire All Golds players are back in training with the South West based Rugby League club after spending the summer playing at professional rugby clubs across Europe.
Ahead of their entry into Rugby League’s semi-professional Championship 1 competition in 2013 All Golds players have spent time with Keighley Cougars, Toulouse Rugby Union, Sheffield Eagles, South Wales Scorpions, Doncaster, York City Knights and Halifax.
Rob Webber, University of Gloucestershire All Golds Chief Executive Officer said: “It has been a great summer of success for the club and we have enjoyed many high points.
“A particular highlight has been the performances of our Academy teams at under 14s, 16s and 18s.
“For me this has been a great achievement as it shows that we are starting to develop talent and produce potential professional players.
“In addition the top level All Golds have come back with extra experience and skills to help develop the next cohort of players.
“It is a cycle that we hope to pursue further over the coming years and our doors are open to anybody who is looking to apply to university next year to play the great sport of Rugby League.”
