Super League Man of Steel Sam Tomkins has been voted the Rugby League Writers’ Association player of the year for the second consecutive season.
The Wigan Warriors and England full-back beat off strong challenges from Warrington Wolves duo Lee Briers and Ben Westwood to take the 2012 award.
Also in the running were Leeds Rhinos’ Grand-Final winning captain Kevin Sinfield and Warrington skipper Adrian Morley.
