English Lions embark on Canada tour

The English Lions will depart from Manchester today (Monday October 1) for a two-game tour of Canada which will see them play the Canada Wolverines – the full national side – and a club side.
Herad coach Jimmy Taylor is looking forward to the ground-breaking visit.
“All the players I’ve selected played in at least two of the three games in our recent Community Four Nations and during that tournament we created a real camaraderie within the squad.”
“Unfortunately our long-term team manager Jimmy Aspinall isn't available to travel due to a pre-arranged trip to Australia, however, he is still working enthusiastically alongside his assistant Frank Mooney who will take charge to ensure that all goes well in his absence.
“We used the session at Leeds to establish that everyone is fit and well, and we can all look forward to a trip of a lifetime.
“I’d like to thank the RFL for making the tour possible and also say a big thank you to sponsors Mike and John Hughes.”
