McGuire revels in feat

Half-back Danny McGuire was the toast of Leeds last night after becoming Super League’s all-time leading tryscorer in the Rhinos’ 42-20 win over Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
The 29-year-old Rhinos favourite equalled former Leeds team-mate Keith Senior’s record of 199 tries before picking up a knee injury against Widnes Vikings last month and went past him on his comeback in tonight’s elimination play-off at Headingley.
McGuire’s landmark 200th try, on his 257th Super League appearance, capped an impressive second-half performance as Leeds three times came from behind to secure a trip to Catalan Dragons in next Friday’s preliminary semi-final.
“It’s a really special moment,” McGuire said. “It’s an honour to be the top tryscorer in Super League. Hopefully there’s plenty more in me and more in me for this season.”
