Six debutants in 2012 Super League Dream Team

The 2012 Stobart Super League Dream Team features six debutants in the prestigious team of the year, which was unveiled at the Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford, Manchester today.
The players in the 2012 Dream team have scored more than 1,000 points so far this season, including over 170 tries, and made in excess of 5,000 tackles.
Wigan Warriors dominate the team selection with six of the 13 players, including four of the seven backs coming from the ranks of the 2012 League Leaders.
Brett Finch has earned his first ever Dream Team selection at stand-off while free-scoring team-mate Josh Charnley also makes his debut appearance on the wing.
Charnley is joined by Wigan centre George Carmont, a Dream Team representative in 2008 and 2011, on the right-hand flank and the second centre in the squad is Warrington’s Ryan Atkins, who makes his debut as part of a three-strong Wolves contingent on the left alongside Leeds Rhinos’ Ryan Hall.
The front row sees two new faces come into the squad, with Warrington’s Chris Hill making his first appearance in the Dream Team at prop, adding another accolade to an already impressive debut season in Super League.
The other prop position is occupied by debutant Remi Casty of Catalan Dragons, the first French player to feature in the Dream Team. Casty is joined by team-mate Scott Dureau, a 2011 Dream Team representative.
Wigan full-back Sam Tomkins is among a group of four players making their third consecutive appearance in the Super League Dream Team alongside Sean O’Loughlin, St Helens hooker James Roby and Warrington back row Ben Westwood.
Westwood’s partner in the second row is Wigan’s Gareth Hock, the sixth player to make his first ever appearance in the Dream Team this season.
The Stobart Super League Dream Team is chosen by a panel of Rugby League journalists and broadcasters who regularly cover the Super League competition and is based on form throughout the regular season.
To celebrate the 2012 Dream Team, sponsors Stobart in partnership with kit suppliers ISC, have developed a special commemorative kit which details the names of every player to have appeared in a Dream Team selection since 1996. Each player, who has appeared in the Dream Team, has been given an individual ID number and these numbers have been woven into the design of the shirt.
