Workington Town 34-29 Oldham RLFC

Workington fight back to stay alive
Workington mounted a stunning late fightback to set up a derby clash with Whitehaven in the next round of the Co-operative Championship 1 play-offs as Oldham were consigned to a 34-29 defeat.
Oldham led 19-10 at the break courtesy of tries from Neil Roden, Alex Thompson and Paul Smith, all of which were converted by Jamie Dallimore, as well as a Roden drop-goal.
Kris Coward and Graeme Mattinson crossed for the home side in the first half.
Paul Noone touched down for the Roughyeds for the first score of the second half and although Elliott Miller and Brett Carter responded with tries for the Cumbrian side, they trailed 29-20 with 10 minutes left when Smith scored his second try of the afternoon.
But Workington were not to be denied, with Neil Frazer and Jason Mossop scoring converted tries and Carl Forber adding a late penalty to seal a clash with Cumbrian rivals Haven.
