Parker brace helps Haven home

Jessie Joe Parker crossed for a pair of tries as Whitehaven advanced to the next stage of the Co-operative Championship 1 play-offs with a 40-12 victory over Rochdale.

Haven will face Workington in an all-Cumbrian clash in round two as Carl Rudd, Lee Doran, Max Wiper, Lewis Palfrey, Paul Cullnean and Jamie Rooney also crossed the whitewash.

Rudd added two goals with Rooney and Andrew Beattie sending one over apiece.

For the Hornets, it means their season is over and they got second-half tries from Steven Roper and Anthony Stewart, both converted by Paul Crook.
