Hunslet edge out York

Hunslet ensured York finished bottom of the Co-operative Championship table with a narrow 28-26 win away to the City Knights.

Liam Welham touched down twice for the Hawks with their other tries coming from Stuart Kain, Steve Lewis and Dennis Tuffour. Luke Helliwell landed four kicks.

York, who trailed 16-4 at the break, came on strong in the second half but did not quite have enough despite two tries from Gareth Pountney and touchdowns by George Elliot, Waine Pryce and Jack Lee. Chris Thorman also kicked three goals.
