Steve Snitch will join an exodus of players from Castleford Tigers after the club confirmed he would be leaving at the end of the season.

Forward Steve Snitch will join an exodus of players from Castleford Tigers after the club confirmed he would be leaving at the end of the season.

The former Wakefield Trinity Wildcats and Huddersfield Giants player, who was not offered a new contract by the Tigers, is moving with his family to Australia, where he is expected to play in the Queensland Cup.

Snitch is one of eight confirmed departures from the Probiz Coliseum. Danny Orr, Ryan Hudson and Nick Youngquest are all retiring while Paul Jackson, Stuart Jones, Josh Griffin and Joe Arundel will continue their careers elsewhere.

The club have already bid farewell to winger Rhys Williams, who has returned to Warrington Wolves following the completion of his loan spell, while second rower Lee Mitchell, who is also on loan from the Wolves, has yet to be offered a new deal.

“I’ve worked it out that there will be 14 players who have played first grade this season who won’t be here next year,” said coach Ian Millward, who has so far recruited Michael Shenton, Jake Webster, Lee Gilmour, Jordan Tansey and Justin Carney for 2013.
