Thunder shock Town

Gateshead stunned promotion-chasing Workington as they claimed their first Co-operative Championship 1 victory of the season on Wednesday night.

The Thunder clinched a 24-22 victory at the 17th time of asking thanks to Tom Hodgson's try with four minutes remaining which was converted by Gavin Beasley.

Jason Payne, Tom Capper and Brett Waller also crossed over with Beasley adding a further three goals.

Kris Coward, Jarrad Stack, John Patrick and Marc Shackley crossed for Town with Carl Forber booting three goals.
