Warrington Wolves have been installed as firm favourites to win the 2012 Carnegie Challenge Cup final when they play Leeds Rhinos in the competition’s showpiece event at Wembley Stadium on Saturday August 25 (2.30pm).

The Wolves have been priced at 4/11 by bookmaker William Hill and will start the day with an eight-point disadvantage on the handicap coupon.

Leeds Rhinos, seeking to avoid becoming the first team to lose a hat-trick of consecutive Cup finals since Hull FC between 1908 and 1910, have been priced at 12/5 to lift the silverware.

Warrington talisman Lee Briers has been installed as favourite to win the prestigious Lance Todd trophy for man-of-the-match, a feat he achieved when Warrington beat Leeds in the 2010 Challenge Cup final, with the stand-off priced at 7/2.

Wolves full-back Brett Hodgson (6/1), hooker Michael Monaghan (7/1) and Leeds Rhinos duo of captain Kevin Sinfield and Rob Burrow (9/1) are seen as the other men most likely to challenge for the coveted individual award.

Warrington’s wingers Joel Monaghan and Chris Riley, alongside potent Rhinos finisher Ryan Hall, have been priced as 15/2 favourites to score the opening try at Wembley with Ryan Atkins, Chris Bridge and Ben Jones-Bishop all priced at 8/1.
