Dewsbury claim derby defeat at Hunslet

Lowly Hunslet went down to a 34-22 defeat at home to local rivals Dewsbury in the Co-Operative Championship.

Both teams scored twice in the first half, Luke Haigh and Stuart Kain touching down for Hunslet with Patch Walker and Ryan Esders replying for Dewsbury, but a missed kick from Luke Helliwell saw the visitors leading 12-10 at the break.

Hunslet briefly took the lead in the 46th minute when Liam Welham went over, but they were quickly behind again as Scott Spaven and Elliot Cosgrove got on the scoresheet for Dewsbury.

David March added another score for Hunslet before Liam Hood and Greg Scott both went over to ensure victory for the Rams.
