Batley Bulldogs 50-0 York City Knights
Batley go third
Batley climbed into third place in the Co-Operative Championship table with a 50-0 rout of struggling York at Mount Pleasant.
The game was as good as over by half-time as the hosts went into the interval leading by 28 points courtesy of tries from Jonny Campbell, Ben Black, Gareth Moore, Gareth Potts and Matthew Wilde.
The second half continued in a similar vein as the Bulldogs added a further 22 points. Alex Brown contributed two tries, Ashley Lindsay also touched down before Jason Walton completed the rout in the 65th minute, with Brown adding six conversions and Danny Maun one.
The result lifts Batley above Leigh and to within two points of second-placed Halifax. Leigh, who have a game in hand on the three teams above them, beat Halifax on Friday.
