Town boosted by beating Barrow

Workington boosted their Co-operative Championship 1 title chances with 48-34 win over promotion rivals Barrow.

Jarrad Stack, Jamie Thackray and Elliott Miller all crossed twice as Town closed to within three points of Barrow with a game in hand.

Adam Warne and Mike Whitehead also crossed for Town and Carl Forber sent over eight goals.

Andy Ballard crossed twice for Barrow, who saw second place Doncaster close the gap at the top of the table to just a point.

Liam Finch, James Dandy, Daniel Toal and Scott Kaighan claimed Barrow's other scores.
