Hunslet Hawks are paving the way in treatments for rehabilitation by trialing the latest product from the world of beauty therapy.

Lava Shell Massage is causing a stir amongst men's sports teams at the moment as it is quickly becoming the preferred remedial treatment for sports rehabilitation. Sportsmen from the field of football, rugby and soon sailing, are just some of the many athletes using the treatment to ease back spasms, tired muscles and general knocks they suffer during their sports.

As Barry Eaton, Head Coach of the Hunslet Hawks says:

“I have witnessed how beneficial the new treatment has been to our players. It has helped with rehabilitation and recovery to the extent that we have had players that would have probably missed a game if it wasn’t for the massage. We currently have players getting weekly lava shell treatments as on-going treatments or as recommended as a rehabilitation programme by our Physiotherapist.”

Other professional athletes who have tried the massage technique include footballers Mark Bright, Les Ferdinand, Dwight York and Jamie Redknapp.
