Rochdale v Whitehaven preview.

Match Preview and Squad announcement

Pair available for Hornets

Rochdale Hornets pair Stephen Bannister and Adam Bowman are both available for selection, but coach John Stankevitch could name an unchanged squad in the Co-operative Championship 1 clash with Whitehaven.

Stankevitch said: "It (win against North Wales) was probably the best we've been all year. I know what the lads are capable of when they turn it on, and we were really dominant defensively. We completely shut them out.

"It was just a really professional performance. We were patient, played with a lot of desire, and it was pleasing to see. We're looking for the same again this week.

"From a Hornets point of view, we're really excited. We're playing against a team that's conceded heavily in the last three games. We've conceded 10 in last three games, and they've conceded 98."

Stankevitch added: "We're not getting carried away. We know the ball is still in Whitehaven's court. They're in fourth; it's up to us to take it off them."

Whitehaven coach Don Gailer has reported a clean bill of health following last week's 48-16 reverse at Barrow, but is set to include Lewis Palfrey for Sunday's trip to Lancashire.

Gailer said: "Rochdale is a tough game. They'll have their tails up after their win last week, and both Rochdale and Oldham are only three points behind us.

"We've got to keep looking over our shoulder while they look straight ahead. We've just got to go out there and perform, and that's no different from any other week."
