Delaney given green light

Leeds Rhinos second rower Brett Delaney has been cleared to play in next month’s Carnegie Challenge Cup final.
The Australian damaged a thumb in the Rhinos’ 34-16 Stobart Super League win over Bradford Bulls last Friday but has been been told he does not need an operation.
He is set to miss Leeds’ next match, a trip to Wakefield next Monday, but will be available for the clash with Warrington Wolves at Wembley on August 25.
Leeds coach Brian McDermott said: “I am delighted for Brett. Obviously with injuries to joints, initially you fear the worst but the news is much more positive than that.
“Our medical team will continue to monitor him but we are very confident he will be okay for Wembley and hasn’t been ruled out for Monday yet, although that is unlikely.”
