Rangi Chase(d) by Hull

Castleford Tigers have confirmed that Hull FC have made a bid to sign England international Rangi Chase but say they only have until 2pm tomorrow to complete the signing for this season.
The clubs are thought to have agreed a transfer fee for the 26-year-old reigning Stobart Super League Man of Steel, who has not played for the Tigers since being suspended for a breach of club discipline last month, and Hull wanted to complete the deal in time for him to play in next Monday’s derby at Hull KR.
But the New Zealand-born half-back would need a change of visa to switch clubs in mid-season and Castleford chief executive Steve Ferres admits it could be a stumbling block to the deal.
“It is true Hull FC have expressed an interest in Rangi and Rangi has expressed an interest in joining Hull FC,” Ferres said. “However, Hull will have to apply for a visa for it to go through.
“Hull’s intention was to sign Rangi before Friday’s 2012 season transfer deadline which is at 2pm.
“Should the visa not be complete, Rangi will remain contracted to Castleford Tigers until 2015.
“He remains available for selection for Sunday’s match at home to Warrington Wolves and our coaching staff are happy with how he has trained with the team this week.”
Chase, a former Maori international who switched his allegiance to England after deciding to settle in this country, is under contract to the Tigers until the end of 2015 after signing an extension last September.
