Walmsley scoops SRL accolade

Alex Walmsley has been named the 2011/12 Student Rugby League Player of the Year.
The Leeds Met Carnegie forward has been rewarded for an outstanding season and will receive the Cec Thompson Award on Friday June 15 at a presentation evening which is part of the final day of action in the SRL Four Nations Championship in Wrexham.
The award was selected by a committee which included coaches, referees and other observers who looked over a short list of nominations.
Four other awards will also be presented as part of the SRL Annual Awards.
