McGoldrick and James charged by RFL

Castleford Tigers stand-off Ryan McGoldrick and Wakefield Trinity Wildcats prop forward Matt James will appear before the Rugby Football League’s disciplinary committee tomorrow charged with foul play.
McGoldrick is facing a grade B offence of striking Widnes forward Steve Pickersgill with his forearm or elbow during the Tigers’ 36-12 win over Widnes Vikings at the Probiz Coliseum yesterday, while James is accused of using his elbow on St Helens forward Carl Forster during his side’s 38-12 defeat at Langtree Park last Friday.
Neither player is eligible to take an early-guilty plea so will be facing a suspension of up two matches if found guilty tomorrow.
They were charged by the RFL’s match-review panel, which issued formal cautions to London Broncos winger Kieron Dixon, Leeds Rhinos centre Carl Ablett, Hull FC second rower Willie Manu and Salford City Reds stand-off Daniel Holdsworth.
