Hickey leaves Broncos
London Broncos have released Australian forward Jarrad Hickey after being unable to find him another club.
The 26-year-old prop joined the Broncos on a 12-month contract from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats last September, but the deal fell through when it was discovered he would have taken the club over their import quota.
The Londoners say they worked with the player and his management company to try and secure a loan move to another club.
“This has proved unsuccessful and so, by mutual consent, Hickey has been released,” they said in a statement. “The club would like to wish him well in the future.”
The Broncos this week signed Hull-born prop Scott Wheeldon following his release by Hull KR.
