Anderson blow for Salford
Salford City Reds back rower Vinnie Anderson is expected to be sidelined for six to eight weeks with an elbow injury.
The former St Helens, Warrington Wolves and New Zealand Warriors player, who is 33 and out of contract at the end of the season, is thought to have sustained the injury in a collision with team-mate Lee Jewitt during the Reds’ home defeat by Hull KR on Easter Monday.
A Salford spokesman said: “He has had investigative surgery after hyper-extending a ligament. He also has a potential small fracture which has shown up on the scan but the physio is quite pleased with how it’s gone so far.”
