The new season kicked off with some great action in all three divisions.

The Premier Division started with two extremely closely fought encounters with the home teams emerging victorious. Featherstone Rovers staged a brilliant second half comeback, recovering from 18-10 behind at half time to beat Castleford 30-24.

There was a try apiece for Lindsay Anfield, Michelle Greenwood and Danni Titterington, with Andrea Dobson helping herself to a couple of tries. Kim Field kicked three conversions for the home side.
For Castleford, Laurie Halleron produced an outstanding individual performance to bag a hat trick of tries with Jody Williamson scoring one. Katie Hepworth was coolness personified in front of the posts, converting all four tries.

In the other game Warrington Wolves narrowly defeated Bradford in their first competitive game since August. Warrington started the match quickly and led 16-4 at half time.

However, Bradford were the better side in the second half with the scoreline finishing 24-20 in favour of the home team.

Holly Freestone was undoubtedly the games outstanding performer, scoring three tries for Warrington. Sarah Eaden and Emily Rudge scored one try each with Vicky Jackson kicking two conversions. For Bradford there were tries for Ashley Prescott, Lois Forsell, Jamie Dion and Lauren Smallwood with Lisa Taylor converting twice.

In Division One North West Wigan St Patricks beat Lee Miners Rangers 20-12 , Widnes Vikings won comfortably against West Craven Warriors 90-0, and Leigh East defeated Chorley Panthers by the scoreline of 30-12.

In Division One Yorkshire and North East Oulton Raiders defeated Ovendon Ladies 32-0, Whinmoor ran out comfortably against Brighouse 56-6, and in what was an extremely close match Stanningley Ladies defeated the Hunslet Hawks 24-22.

Premier Division Result: Featherstone 30-0 Castleford; Warrington Wolves 24-20.
