Carnegie Challenge Cup Second Round
14 Conference Premier clubs and three Armed Forces sides join the Wembley trail this weekend in the Second Round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup.
They join the 11 teams that have progressed from the First Round of Rugby League’s oldest and most prestigious knockout cup competition.
All three Armed Forces sides face tricky ties against Conference Premier opposition with the RAF travelling to East Hull, the British Army playing at Oulton and Royal Navy hosting Leigh Miners Rangers in Portsmouth.
Reigning Conference Premier champions Thatto Heath host Millom and last year’s ruuners-up Siddal entertain West Hull.
There is one tie on Sunday which sees last season’s Rugby League Conference National champions Huddersfield Underbank Rangers host Wath Brow Hornets.
The Carnegie Challenge Cup Third Round Draw takes place at the Recreation Ground in Whitehaven on Tuesday March 13 and will be live on BBC Radio Cumbria.
Tickets for the draw, which sees the entry into the competition of the Co-operative Championships clubs cost just £2 and are available from Whitehaven RLFC.
Tickets for the 2012 Carnegie Challenge Cup Final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday August 25 cost from just £21 and are now on sale. Family tickets giving access to one of British sport’s most historic fixtures to two adults and two children are also available, priced £55 or £79.
