Hawks holiday coaching

February half term will see Hunslet Hawks hold a coaching session at Junior club Hunslet Parkside on Thursday 16th February from 10.00 am to 12.00pm. The two hour session is aimed at Junior players from Hunslet Parkside but also to target new players to the club and is one of the initiatives to try and create a better junior player pathway. Currently the Hunslet Parkside junior club have representation in the Yorkshire Junior league at most age groups but currently do not have any teams at Under 9s(primary school year 3/4 ) or under 11s( primary school year 5/6 ).
The Hawks club are forging strong community links and are starting delivery of coaching in local Primary schools after the February holiday again to improve Rugby league activity at grass roots level and to then offer player pathway to local junior clubs such as Hunslet parkside.
Barry Eaton said “ This Coaching taster day is the start of a process that will hopefully assist in raising the awareness of the great game of Rugby League and to hopefully to attract new junior players to the game.”
By engaging with local schools and local Junior clubs the Hawks in conjunction with local teams hope to be able to help create enough interest to help local clubs to have teams at every age group so are asking all children who may be interested in Rugby to come down to Hunslet parkside on Thursday 16th February to enjoy learning and developing their Rugby skills.
