RFL Chairman Richard Lewis has congratulated Bev Risman and Jamie Peacock after the pair were honoured in the New Year's Honours List today.

Former RFL President Risman, a dual code international, has received the OBE whilst Peacock, the England Rugby League captain and Leeds Rhinos prop, has been made an MBE.

"On behalf of everyone involved in Rugby League I would like to congratulate Bev and Jamie on their deserved recognition in the New Year's Honours List," said Lewis.

"Bev is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced people in the Rugby League world, someone who has worked tirelessly for many years to introduce young people to the sport and I can't think of anyone more deserving of an OBE.

"Jamie has led England with distinction and as the consummate professional is a role model for every aspiring young Super League player."
