Former Hull KR hooker Ben Fisher has signed with Batley Bulldogs for the 2012 Co-operative Championship season.

The 30-year-old Sydney-born Fisher made 124 appearances in Super League after helping Rovers win promotion in 2006 but was not offered a new contract at the end of the 2011 season.

"There have been a fair number of high quality, established Super League players who have taken the step to the Championship and Ben's one of them," said new Batley coach John Kear.

Fisher played for Sydney Roosters, North Sydney Bears and Halifax before joining Hull KR and represented Scotland in the 2008 World Cup.
