Taulapapa out to prove his quality
Samoan international Misi Taulapapa has rejoined Sheffield Eagles after his move to Hull KR fell through.
Taulapapa signed a 12-month contract with Rovers in August but was then told he does not fit into the plans of new coach Craig Sandercock and, after agreeing a severance deal, has now returned to the Championship club.
“It is annoying but things happen,” he told the Sheffield Star. “You always have something to prove. I’ll be going out there to prove that I’m a quality player.
“I’ve put the Hull thing away but I’ll hold on to a little bit of it to give me that fire in me.”
Taulapapa, who played for New Zealand Warriors and Cronulla in the NRL, has signed a new two-year contract at Sheffield.
Coach Mark Aston said: “Misi’s a quality player. It’s been a very traumatic time for him but he wants to be here and be part of what we are building.”
